Our Construction and Remodeling Services in Collin County

We build and remodel every part of the home, from foundations to finishes.

Built for Collin County Conditions

Most of Collin County sits on Blackland Prairie clay, a dense soil that swells when it rains and shrinks in summer heat. That seasonal movement is the leading cause of foundation problems in the area, which is why the foundation is where a sound build starts.

For new homes and additions, we plan the foundation around that soil from the beginning. On flat lots, that usually means a post-tension slab, where steel tendons are tensioned after the pour to keep the slab in compression and ride out the soil’s movement. We give the same attention to drainage and grading, since water pooling against a slab is what sets the cycle in motion. That groundwork is what keeps everything built above it sound for decades.

What Goes Into Your Project Price (and Why the Lowest Bid Often Costs More)

We won’t always be the lowest bid, and on a remodel or a new build, that usually works in your favor.

Your price comes down to three things: the size of the project, the materials you choose, and the quality of the work you can’t see once the walls and slab are closed up.

The lowest bid usually gets there by leaving something out, whether that’s a skipped permit, builder-grade materials, or rushed work behind the walls like waterproofing and framing. Those shortcuts rarely show on move-in day. They show up later, in repairs that cost more than the savings ever did.

We price the whole job up front, put every change in writing so there are no surprises on the invoice, and use materials built to last. Over the life of the work, that costs you less, not more. And when budget is a concern, we offer financing through a lending partner, so quality work stays within reach.

General Contractor FAQs

Do you build new custom homes, or only remodel?

Both. We build new custom homes from the foundation up across Collin County, and we bring that same structural standard to every remodel, addition, and outdoor project we take on.

North Texas sits on Blackland Prairie clay that expands when wet and shrinks during drought, which is the leading cause of foundation movement in the area. For new builds and additions, we plan the foundation for that movement, commonly a post-tension slab on flat lots, and we pay close attention to drainage and grading so water doesn’t work against your slab.

A post-tension slab is an engineered foundation by design, built to handle the seasonal movement in North Texas clay, and we plan each foundation around your lot and its site conditions.

Both. Across Collin County, we build new custom homes in growth communities such as Princeton, Anna, Melissa, and Celina, and we remodel and add onto established homes in cities like McKinney, Allen, and Plano. The project changes with the area, but the standard doesn’t.

You get one project manager from EXL running your job from start to finish, and one company accountable for all of it, including every trade on site.

Because we price the whole job up front, and if anything changes once we’re into the walls, we write it down and price it before we do the work. No surprise line items on your invoice.

It depends on the size of the project, the materials you choose, and how much hidden work is involved. A small bathroom refresh and a full kitchen remodel are very different numbers, so we give you a clear, full price up front rather than a vague range.

Most bathroom remodels run a few weeks. Kitchens usually take longer, often because cabinets have a long lead time. Whole-home projects and new builds run longer still. We give you a timeline with your estimate and keep you updated as the work moves.

Usually, yes, depending on the project. For a single room or a bathroom, most families stay put. For a big whole-home job, we’ll talk through what makes sense. Either way, we phase the work to keep your house livable where we can.

On older homes, it happens. We tell you straight, show you what we found, and price the fix before we move ahead. You’re never surprised by a bill you didn’t approve.

Yes. We pull the local permits your project needs and handle the city inspections, so the work’s done to code and you don’t have to deal with it.

Yes. An ADU is a smaller second home on your lot, like a backyard guest house or in-law suite. We check your zoning and setbacks first, since that sets how big you can build, then design and build it to match your main house.

We back our workmanship in writing.
